Olivia Frost

Olivia began her formal dressage education by working under Felicitas von Neumann Cosel at First Choice Farm in Maryland. Felicitas is an international dressage competitor, Reitlerher, USDF examiner for the Instructors Certification Program, Editor, frequent contributor to Dressage Today magazine and clinician. Felicitas emphasizes the importance of theory and the practice of classical dressage education as well as creative and common sense horsemanship. Lunch breaks at First Choice Farm were often filled with theory discussions and creative problem solving strategies. Felicitas’ commitment to education ensured that Olivia was able to perform all the FEI dressage movements before Olivia was allowed to compete at any level. With Felicitas’ guidance, Olivia navigated the centuries old technqiues of training a horse with patience, feel, compassion and attention to detail. 

Olivia began training clients and their horses in 2006, establishing a specialized training program for each horse and rider that allowed them to succeed and thrive. As a trainer, Olivia looks at the horse and client both in terms of their individual needs and goals. Olivia remains a steadfast advocate for supports the needs and abilities of the horse and rider, diligently working to facilitate to cultivate the connection between horse and rider both of in and out of the arena. Olivia's training style prioritizes clear communication, quality and safety. 

Olivia has formerly trained with renowned bio mechanics expert Suzanne con Dietze, and Isabel von Neumann Cosel. She was Assistant Trainer to Kristina Harrison and has regularly worked with Dr Christian Schacht, Conrad Schumacher, Gail Hoff Carmona among others. and more.

Olivia teaches instructs all of her riders on how to optimize their body, using bio-mechanics to allow both the horse and rider to perform at their very best. Olivia's teaching style is a combination of visual learning, somatic embodiment, cheerleading and timeless wisdom. She believes that riders perform at their best when they are having fun and remain open to learning. Olivia never shies from a client's challenge: be it ambitious goals, overcoming deep rooted issues, or supporting horse and rider partnership through the nuances of the discipline of dressage. Olivia believes that dressage riders all have one thing in common: a desire to better themselves through a better connection with their horse. Our commitment to riding is not only to improve our time in the saddle but to improve our skills at horsemanship as well.
